Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig in September 21 in 1983. She is an American actress best known for her role as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. Born in Worthington Ohio, she dropped out of high school in order to relocate in Los Angeles with her mother when her parents separated. Her first role came to her as Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001, despite having a difficult time with finances. In 2002, she was nominated for a Young Artist Award with her part as the 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford's character she played in Lost from 2004 to 2005 was selected for an Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace was forced to quit the show in order to focus on her acting career. The actress had been on the show with Tom Welling opposite in The Fog earlier in the year 2005. Part of the Gyllenhaal family She is the daughter of film makers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and the older sibling of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Later, she was as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002).
